Erythronium dens canis   Naturalising

The well known dog’s tooth violet. The large flowers have swept back petals and prominent stamens in shades of pink and white.  The leaves are beautifully marbled with purple and silver.   Best in light shade under shrubs, and it can be naturalised.  Summer dormant.

Erythronium tuolumnense 'Pagoda'

A most beautiful and vigorous hybrid with large sulphur-yellow turks cap flowers. The easiest to grow - perfect for light shade or it has even grown on our dry rock garden for 40 years!  Summer dormant. Like all this group the bulbs must not be allowed to dry out before planting.

Erythronium californicum 'White Beauty

Still the best!  Large white turks cap flowers with pale yellow centres. Easy to grow and increases well in light shade making large, showy clumps. This handsome erythronium is a form of E.californicum, not revolutum as is often thought. It is therefore tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions provided it is humus rich and well drained.
