Triteleia (Brodiaea)

Triteleia are easy bulbs for a sunny, well drained soil. I grow mine with dwarf lavender. All make excellent and long lasting cut flowers. Mass them together. They are known as Brodiaea in the florist trade!

    An exciting new Triteleia with very double flowers of clear blue. Very long lasting and shorter than most so good for a rock garden.

    Triteleia laxa 'Queen Fabiola'

    Open heads of bright-blue flowers, like a mini agapanthus. Plant in a dry position in tight clumps and leave undisturbed. The leaves appear early then as they die back so the clump erupts into flower.

    Triteleia laxa 'Rudy'

     This is a new and very distinct form with large heads of trumpet shaped flowers of the palest blue, each with a dark central stripe. A dramatic new hybrid. It is slightly later flowering than Queen Fabiola but just as easy and long lived. Plant the bulbs in tight clumps in a dry sunny position where they will not be disturbed. I grow them massed with lavenders. Excellent cut flowers.

Broadleigh Display Gardens

Over the past 30 years, the 5 acre gardens and nursery at Broadleigh Gardens have become a well established major attraction for our customers. Described by one visitor as a wonderful secret garden.

The gardens are open Monday – Friday 9am to 4pm for a £2.50 charity donation

(all proceeds go to St Margaret’s Somerset Hospice).
