Allium sphaerocephalon
Small flame-shaped heads of intense reddish-mauve on slender stems with narrow threadlike leaves. Sometimes called the shuttlecock allium. Very effective when massed in tight clumps in a sunny border. and particularly good with grasses or lavender. Bees love it. Plant in a well drained soil in full sun for best results.
