Fritillaria imperialis Lutea Maxima Crown Imperial
A fine stately plant with nodding yellow bells below a tuft of leaves and whorls of bright green leaves. Plant the bulbs at least 15cm deep in late autumn in a a rich, well drained soil in full sun or part shade. They seem to like the base of fruit trees! They require ample moisture when growing or the flowers will abort and the whole plant turn prematurely yellow.
