Iris reticulata Pixie
A dwarf variety, deep purple-blue flowers with falls of yellow and white stripes. These winter flowering iris appear as the snowdrops fade. They are small enough for a rock garden or they can be grown under trees. They also make excellent pot plants but do not force them if they are wanted for indoors. Wait until the buds are showing before bringing them into the house. The bulbs are planted in the autumn, Summer dormant. Reticulata irises are frequently planted as annuals, but these bulbous irises will grow on if planted deeply or in a fairly moist, shady situation.
