Wood Tulip. This tulip is a rare native of Britain, probably being introduced by the Romans. This lovely species has nodding buds which open to clear yellow with a greenish outside. Best planted where left undisturbed and flowers best after a warm dry summer. Will naturalise in grass and light woodland, spreading by stolons.
Plant the bulbs in late autumn at least 6" deep in well drained soil in full sun.
